The It's 404, yo! app collects no data. It runs entirely offline on your Mac. Your sample files are read and converted locally and never leave your computer. This website uses privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics (see below).
The macOS app collects nothing. There is no account, no sign-in, and no cloud service. It gathers no personal information (no name, email, IP address, or device identifiers), does no in-app usage tracking, and uses no cookies or analytics. Your audio files never leave your Mac; nothing is uploaded anywhere.
This website (its404yo.iamjarl.com) uses Umami, a privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics tool, to count visits and see which pages are popular. It records aggregate statistics only, no cookies, no cross-site tracking, and no personally identifiable information. This is separate from the app, which remains fully offline.
All inspection and conversion happens on your device using Apple's Core Audio frameworks. The app only accesses the files and folders you explicitly choose, and writes converted output to a location you pick. Nothing is uploaded anywhere.
